Huntsville, AL - At the 34th Annual Joseph Cribbins Aviation Product Symposium, WestWind Technologies received a prestigious award from Redstone Arsenal's Cargo Helicopter Project Management Office.  The award recognized outstanding performance throughout the past year in support of the project office which manages the Army's CH-47 fleet worldwide. 

WestWind was selected by PM Cargo as the company "most instrumental in assisting the organization" based on the delivery of the CH-47F Transportable Flight Proficiency Simulators ahead of schedule, below cost, and without waiver.  The flight simulators were the first in full-rate production and contain the most current cockpit which provides a dynamic training environment for the heavy lift cargo helicopters.

Cargo Helicopter Office Project Manager Colonel Newman Shufflebarger said, "We have moved into a new era with the simulators for the CH-47F. WestWind is an important family member to the Chinook team, and has been invaluable to PM Cargo this year.  By compressing the production schedule, we have been able to get the training capability to the soldiers sooner, increasing their chances of successful missions and a safe return home."
