WestWind strives to provide customer satisfaction on all programs regardless of the complexity or size of the contract; they are all important to the WestWind executive staff and employees. The awards that have been presented to WestWind is a testament to the ownership of every project by the employees at WestWind.
WestWind has operated for over seven years without a lost time reportable accident, we have been awarded eight of the nine awards given by the National Safety Council. The ninth is a ten year award that we are striving to achieve. Our safety culture encompasses our production operations and ground operations at three facilities.
WestWind has implemented and maintains an aggressive Safety, Health and Environmental plan to provide employees a safe and healthful workplace. This plan complies with all applicable federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 1910.29, National Fire Prevention Administration (NFPA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI) A92.3, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM), Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and applicable US Military Safety Standards and guidelines.
WTI has a well-established and comprehensive Hazardous Materials Management Program (HMMP) IAW with DI-MGM-81398 designed to ensure WTI and subcontractor compliance with NAS 411 and all applicable federal, state, D.O.T, D.O.D and Military Laws, rules, standards and regulations.
As a result of our performance on the CH-47F Transportable Flight Proficiency Simulator (TFPS) WestWind was awarded the 2008 Joseph P. Cribbins Award and recognized by our customer as most instrumental in their success.
WTI was selected to receive the prestigious DLA Land and Maritime Recognition for Excellence Silver Award for 2009. The award was presented in 2010 at the annual DLA Enterprise Supplier Conference and Exhibition in Columbus, OH. The award is based on very stringent criteria; in order to be eligible for the award, a contractor has to have been awarded a minimum of 50 CLINS for the award year. WTI’s shipments and quality were measured in the 99% to 99.9% range for the Columbus section of DLA with an overall score of at least 90 percent.
