Kitting, Packaging, Labeling and Shipping

WestWind’s Warehouse Department is responsible for inventory control of materials used for production, shipping and transportation. WestWind provides warehousing, packaging and shipping solutions to our customers per Statement of Work (SOW) requirements including UID and RFID labeling.

WestWind packages kits in accordance with customer’s requirements per MIL-STD-2073-1D Level “A” Packaging Data requirements and OEM unique requirements. WestWind is experienced in special handling and packaging for assets susceptible to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) and provides packaging requirements for a Maritime environment.

WestWind maintains barcode, Unique Identification Designator (UID) Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) capability and also provides customized labeling, as needed. WestWind has extensive global shipping expertise and maintains a robust carrier and broker network.

Completed parts and assemblies are routed to the warehouse where they are safely stored until kitting or customer delivery is required. When a shipment is complete, warehouse personnel use a shipping log to document tracking numbers, delivery locations and project numbers.

WestWind’s facilities have both dock and ramp access for handling the variety of items that are shipped and received daily. All loading and unloading is performed by forklift operators trained and licensed IAW 29 CFR 1910.178.
